Magazine photoshoot

This is a photograph outside of our model Jake

This is a photograph of me Jake and Kevin in the studio for our magazine

The genre of magazine we chosen was music because we felt that with the equipment we had and the attire we had on we fitted the idea of a magazine well. We wanted to showcase modern day music lovers as you can see at the top for our outdoor picture we used Jake for this picture with earphones this was to show what the modern day person uses these days when out on about. This explains that music can now be heard anywhere you go. The second photo which was taken in the studio was used to show the different emotions that can be felt when listening to your favourite music this can include sadness, happiness and anger.

Photoshop London Skyline

This is my photoshopped image of me with the London skyline in the background. For editing i removed some of the background through the paint bucket tool this was to give the image a art like feel to it making the background look a bit like paint. Also i made the background grey so that it didn’t take away from the photoshopped photo of me in the image.

Soft light and Hard light

soft light

The persons head in the bottom with the tree above is the best example of the 2 images for the rule of third. Both images uses the rule of third well and lines everything up well along the lines.

hard light

You can tell hard light and soft light apart by the contrast of the photograph. Hard light has higher contrast than soft light because of the involvement of dark shadows and shade.

This image is a example of a silhouette where we used the direction of light to create a shade and control where the light was coming from.

The rule of third is used to focus the focal points of a photo. This is done by creating a grid in the form of a noughts and crosses style design. The main focal points are highlighted through the use of lines in the grid dividing and separating the focal points from the rest of the photo. The grid devices the photo in 3 lines both horizontal and vertical. The rule of thirds is a compositional technique and is structured in this way. The image symbolises hard work and team work showing that you can achieve anything together when you put your mind to it. The rule of third technique adds focus to individual points of the image for example the art work is put into focus to showcase the handwork that has been put into it.
